Gallery Walk Events At The Golden Orchid
The Golden Orchid Spa and Shop has joined the Downtown Frederick Gallery Walk. The first Saturday of every month from 6pm - 9pm, the art galleries and local merchants stay open to host different events and art exhibits of all kinds.

• May 3rd: Stephen Lana - local artist from Shepardstown, WV will be displaying an art show in the spa. View his paintings while enjoying complementary spa treatments.
• June 7th: Kelly Singleton from Baltimore, MD will be displaying her nature and wildlife art. Complementary chair massage, make overs, and hand treatments will also be available.
• July 5th: Dannielle Tadas will be hosting a talk on Cleansing Breath. Stay tuned for more details.

Come For A Makeup Makeover!
Our expert from SuperNaturals is coming to do make-overs on Tuesday May 20th from 1pm - 5pm. Spend 30 minutes with her to experiment with colors that highlight and brighten your face. Give Beautiful Orchids With A Gift Certificate
The Golden Orchid has teamed up with the Flower Vendor to offer this new service. They will deliver a beautiful arrangement of orchids with any gift certificate purchased from the Golden Orchid Spa & Shop. Call us and we can arrange the delivery for you. An additional $35 will be charged along with the cost of the certificate. Larger arrangements can also be made available for an additional fee.

Rosacea: What Is It And What Can Be Done About It?
Rosacea is a vascular disorder that can be triggered by sun, emotional stress, hot weather, alcohol, spicy foods, and exercise.

Primary features are flushing, persistent redness of the central face, and distended capillaries. In severe cases that are left untreated, disfiguring will occur and requires laser surgery or skin removal.

Unfortunately, there is no cure but it can be controlled. The Golden Orchid now offers a facial treatment to help the effects of Rosacea. This specialty treatment is $80 for the consultation and facial. Call for an appointment and information!

The Golden Orchid is excited to announce the arrival of a new employee, Gena Hemler. She brings years of experience in other spas as well as business administration that compliments the staff at the Golden Orchid. Gena is a certified Esthetician (skin care specialist) and Nail Technician. Welcome to Gena!

Congratulations to Debbie Galdamez. She became certified as an Infant Massage Instructor a couple of months ago and is about to launch her first Infant Massage class. In addition to these classes, she is also one of our Certified Massage Instructors on staff.

Tips & Treats
The Vinegar Book by Emily Thaker told me some interesting things about Vinegar... Try some of these home remedies and tell me if they worked for you...

• Headaches - add a dash of apple cider vinegar to the water in a vaporizer and inhale the vapors for 5 minutes. Lay quietly and the headache should go away in 20 minutes.
• Hiccups - will disappear, if you sip, very slowly, a glass of warm water with 1 teaspoon of vinegar in it.
• Settle an upset stomach - if you sip on a glass of warm water mixed with 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon of vinegar.
